Joyce Patricia Harrison, age 80 of Montrose, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at her home. Joyce was born August 21, 1936 in Delores, Colorado to Emerson and Barbara (Cash) Lyen. Joyce was raised in Grand Junction, Colorado. She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1955. In 1957 Joyce married Jim Jones and at that time they had three children; Spike, Shawna, and Michelle. On September 20, 1968 Joyce married Eldon Harrison. Eldon has a son Dwayne from a previous marriage. Joyce did the books for Eldon’s business for 15 years, then she worked for the county until she retired in 1998. Joyce enjoyed painting, gardening, camping, bowling, and canning. Joyce also enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce is survived by her four children Spike (June) Harrison of Cathedral City, CA; Dwayne (Mary) Harrison of Spring, Texas; Shawna (Mark) Taylor of Delta, CO; and Michelle Kemp of Montrose, CO; one brother Stan (Hellen) Lyen; two sisters Eula(Jerry) Jones, Judy Coats and a sister-in-law Margarite (Pat) Wakefield;  12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service in loving memory of Joyce, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 2030 Stratford Drive, Montrose, CO 81401. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Tri-County Resource Center, for women and family affected by domestic violence, in memory of Joyce Harrison, at P.O.
