Joyce Marie Hogue Jan. 2, 1949 – June 24, 2023, Air Force – Technician Sergeant Helicopter Maintenance Craftsman.
Joyce passed away peacefully at her home in Montrose, Colorado after a brief encounter with cancer. Born Jan. 2, 1949, to Raymond and Theresa Coventon in Winthrop Massachusetts. The middle child of four. She had 2 girls, Lori and Shani Matteson before entering into a career with the Air Force 1974-1994. During her career she received several commendation medals for her service, and her time in Desert Storm. She was very proud to say she was an Air Force helicopter mechanic. One of her most favorite helicopters to maintain was the Sikorsky HH3E “The Jolley Green Giant” Her life was full of adventure! From her many deployments around the world to her six husbands. She was well known for her free spirit and gambling trips to Wendover Nevada. Joyce will be deeply missed by all that knew her and loved her. She will be remembered for her kind soul, her hospitality and the ease she had in making new friends. Join us for a graveside service, Friday July 7 at 10:00am at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
