Josefine W. Hall, age 77, of Montrose, died December 29, 2015 at Sunrise Creek Assisted Living in Montrose. Josefine was born March 6, 1938 to Josef and Franziska (Schiedlmeier) Weichselgartner in Koesslarn, Germany. There she spent her childhood and received her education. She married V. Paul Hall on March 2, 1959 in Augsburg, Germany.
Josefine was a private contractor; a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother extraordinaire, and will be missed by her family.
Josefine’s husband, Paul served his country for 22 years in the United States Army and so moving and relocating numerous times were often. Upon retirement, they moved to Montrose to spend their retirement years and made their home until Josefine’s time of death.
Surviving family members include her husband, V. Paul Hall of Montrose; daughters, Christine (John) Astrup, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Karolin Hill (D’Ann Sherwood) of Belgium; and one sister Franziska Dehniger of Muenchen, Germany; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Josefine was preceded in death by a sister, Marie and her parents.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Josefine’s life will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Barr officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel and a private family interment will take place on Tuesday January 5th, 2016 at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction, Colorado. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation, in memory of Josefine, 20 Exchange Pl., New York, N.Y. 10005. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, in Montrose, is assisting the family.
