Jon F Thomass

Jon F. Thomass, passed away at Montrose Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 12, 2015. He was 73 years old.

Jon was born June 4, 1942 in Durango, Colorado to John and Matie (DeLuche) Thomass. Jon was an Educator and Musician, graduating first at Western State University in Gunnison, Colorado, and later receiving his Master’s Degree from Western State University; and an advanced degree at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. He lived many places including Banff, Alberta, Canada; Greeley, Colorado; New York City, New York; San Clemente, California; and returned to Montrose, Colorado in 2012. Jon was a pianist and composer, writing several songs which are copy written.

Jon is survived by his two daughters: Lynne (Joe) Markum and Andree Thomas; his grandchildren: Shantel Thomas, Shaun (Jolene) Thomas, Matt Markum, and Blake Markum; and his great grandchildren: Jaedyn Lewis, Ava Thomas, and Alivia Thomas; as well as his cousins, Donna (Kjell) Haugland; Don (Patsy) DeLuche, and his sister Diane (Fred) Thomass Peck; his nieces, Cheree (Scott) Hammond and Ana Faith; and his nephew, Nate (Kim) Thomass; as well as his great nieces and nephews: Adriana Hammond, Neil Hammond, Noah Thomass, and Elijah Thomass.

Services will be held in San Clemente, California where he will be laid to rest. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home in Montrose, Colorado.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co. is assisting the family.
