John H. McCoy, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, and went to live with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

John was born January 5, 1929 to William Boyce Mccoy and Mary Edna Ray (Mccoy). He was the oldest of four children. He was born and raised in Bertram, Texas and graduated from Bertram High School in 1946.

John served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. That is where he met Jesus and forever changed the course of his life. He was sitting at a church meeting and the preacher preached on acts 16:30-31. "And brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved and thy house." John told, himself that day, " I believe." After that, he went to college to become a preacher and a teacher, where he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Mays. They got married August 11, 1955. They had three kids together, John David Mccoy, Susan McCoy (Meders) and Sandra Mccoy.

He was a preacher from 1954 to 1975, and a teacher from 1961 to 1987. He never could stay retired though, he loved working. When he finished teaching, he sold shoes, mowed lawns, he was a carpenter, an electrician and a plumber. He also loved his garden and canning with his wife. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved kids, and was always smiling and laughing. He was very accepting and would take you just how you were, and tell you all about Jesus.

John was preceded in death by his parents William Boyce Mccoy, and Mary Edna Mccoy and his brother Billy Mccoy. He is survived by his "little old woman" Patricia, his brother Hugh B. , his sister Mary Joe, his children John David Mccoy, Susan Meders, and Sandra McCoy. Five grandchildren, Casey Daniels, Brittany Daniels, Jessica Smithey, T'Anni, Meders and Addie Meders, and by his eight Great Grandchildren, Ayden, Cloe, Jason, Hunter, Ryder, Brody, Emma, and Koy.
