John Ferguson Wilson

February 13,1924 – January 8, 2013

John (“Jack”) Ferguson Wilson, age 89 of Montrose, Colorado took the Lord’s hand, finishing the work he was called to do; keeping the faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

He was born to William Edgar Wilson and Hazel Ferguson Wilson on February 13, 1924 in New Britain, Connecticut. His education consisted of State Teacher’s College, University of Connecticut business management school, and Army Air Corp Training in Aircraft Electrical Repair. John worked for fifteen years in his own business as an electrical contractor before entering the Child Evangelism Fellowship ministry.

John Wilson faithfully served the Lord for twenty-two years, leading many to the Lord’s saving grace on Colorado’s Western Slope. He was ordained at the Valley Baptist Church as a pastor on March 20, 1983. He also worked as a locksmith up and down Colorado’s Western slope.  His special interests included salt-water fishing, hunting, RV trailering throughout the south west, photography and most recently, computers.

He leaves behind two daughters Cynthia Wilson and Sandra Van Allen, four grandchildren Julie, Joshua and Jessica Knerr, and Emerson LaEspina. He was a proud great grandpa of two boys: Sean Knerr, thirteen and Bodhi Younger six months old.

Please join us at his homecoming celebration on April 12, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Trinity Reformed Presbyterian Church, 2706 Sunnyside Ave, Montrose Colorado. Internment will take place at Grandview Cemetery west of Montrose. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory of Montrose.  “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8.
