John F. “J” Charles, Jr. a longtime resident of Ouray Colorado, passed away on Feb. 5th, 2013 in Phoenix, AZ at the age of 77. He grew up in Ouray, CO and worked at many of the mines in the area. He worked for Ouray County as a heavy equipment operator for many years until he retired and moved to Sanders, AZ.

He was preceded in death by one son, John Jay Charles. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Karen Charles and Robbie Mallard of Tyler, TX; wife Charlie Anderson-Charles of Sanders, AZ; brother and sisters: Ken and LaVerne Charles of Delta, CO; Jeanie and George Straw of Morrison, CO; Bill and Cathy Charles of Grand Junction, CO & Ruby Gorrod of Fairbanks, AK; other children Howard and Marla Noble of Lakeside, AZ; Tammy and Eldon Frost of Sanders, AZ; Cinda and Kenny Rich of Centerton, AR; Maria Ziemba of Ouray, CO; Melody and Jeff Smith of San Jose, CA; Damion Ziemba of Ouray, CO and grandchildren Paul Frost, Nathan Frost, Valerie Noble, Sylvia Tamby, Brian, Wyatt and Tyeler Noble; and great grandchild Zoe.

There will be a small Graveside Interment Service at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Ouray, CO on Monday, Feb. 11th, 2013 at 1:00 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co.
