John Albert Graves, 86 passed from this earth Saturday, January 14,2017 in Farmington, New Mexico.
John was born January 30, 1930 in Caldwell, Idaho to Jess Albert Graves and Hazel Pearl Brown.  He had two sisters; Geraldine and Kathryn.  John met the love of his life Mona May Hansen and married her on July 10, 1954, in Payette, Idaho.
John served his country honorably 22 years in the Navy, including the Korean War, and several submarines.  He retired with honors and remained a true patriot until his death.  The military offered him and his family travel opportunities, which included; California, Washington, Connecticut, and Japan.
John enjoyed, bowling, hunting, fishing and camping with his family.
John was survived by his four children; Debbie and Mike Mikkelson (Cortez, CO), Christy and Darrell Land (The Colony, TX), John A Graves, Jr and Paula (Henryville, IN), Teresa and Rick Hurt (Farmington, NM),  10 Grandchildren, 19 Great grandchildren; and Sister, Geraldine Turner.  He was predeceased by his wife; Mona May Hansen Graves (May 10, 2012), Grandson; Cody Duane Presnell (August 22, 1987), sister; Kathryn Barnard (April 27, 1991)
Funeral service is Saturday, January 21, 2017, 3:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1521 Hillcrest Drive, Montrose, Colorado  with a viewing beginning at 2:00pm.  Graveside service will follow at the Grand View Cemetery.  Services provided by Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory.
