Jerry D. Munkirs
October 22, 1935 ~ September 17, 2017
Jerry was born in Wichita, Kansas. As a young child, the family moved to Englewood, Colorado where he went to school, graduating from EHS in 1954. Jerry married in 1955, and later divorced. Four sons were born of that union. He married Jo (Manaia) Kostiuk in 1979 in Lyons, CO. They have called western Colorado home since that time.
Jerry worked in the printing business as a pressman, plant manager and then in sales from 1954 until he retired in 2005.
His faith was a most important part of life and he always tried his best to follow the Lord’s direction. He was an active member of Victory Baptist Church in Montrose, CO at the time of his passing.
Jerry is survived by his wife Jo, three sons, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren: also three step children and four step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Eula (Moore) Munkirs, brother Robert E., sisters Patty Stover, Dolores Novatny, Dorothy Kargo, one son Christopher, and a grandson Joshua Munkirs.
Jerry was a huge Bronco fan and was very passionate when watching them play. He also followed and watched high school football, wrestling and the Colorado Rockies. The two sports he most loved to participate in were fishing and golf.
