Janice Elaine Fleming passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018 surrounded by her close family.
Janice was born to Elsie Margret (Gray) Rettig and Carl Ludwig Rettig on April 14, 1940, in Grand Junction, Colorado. She attended college in Denver from 1958 to 1959 and married Thomas E. Fleming on November 27, 1959.
Janice loved to travel, she and Thomas enjoyed many adventurous times in the gold fields of Colorado, Wyoming and California panning for gold and searching for old mining treasures. She also had a talent for oil painting and co-authored a book on the history of Rico, Colorado. She was an active member of All Saints Church, Alter Guild and Wednesday Bible Study.
Janice will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Thomas, and their daughters Shelly Fleming (Brian) Sanders and Angela Fleming (John) Hildebrand. She will also be remembered with fond memories by her sister, Shirley (Wayne) Holland, her brothers-in-law Arthur (Clella) Fleming, Willis (Carlotta) Fleming, sister-in-law Mary Lou Fletcher; and four grandchildren, Kyle, Tyler, Tristen and Karson Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Eucharist Services will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 2057 South Townsend Avenue, Montrose, CO 81401, Montrose, Colorado on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., with ash dedication immediately after. Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
