James E. “Jim” Rouhier passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on February 8, 2018. He was born on July 28, 1935 in Indiana and lived in Oregon, New Mexico and Colorado through-out his life. Jim had many occupations in his life including sawmill worker, salesman, contractor, realtor, and most recently a home inspector. He moved to Montrose in 1974 when he was hired as a foreman on the Crystal Dam Project. He loved the mountains and enjoyed hunting and fishing as often as he could. He was a great dancer & met his present wife, Bonnie Rouhier, at a dance. They shared 5 years together dancing through life. He had 3 children and 4 step-children. There was not a time when Jim didn’t tear up as he spoke of his 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Jim will always be remembered for his big happy smile and great sense of humor. We’ll miss you Cowboy! A service for Jim will be held March 17th at 10 a.m. at the Crippin Funeral home.
