Jack Nathan Lee

May 5, 1930 — March 27, 2025

Montrose

Jack Nathan Lee was born to Thomas A Lee, and Mable Grundy Lee in Indianapolis Indiana May 5th, 1930. He was the 3rd of 4 boys and was often ill as a child. The Dr's recommended a higher dryer climate so the family moved to Denver Colorado in 1931.

Jack was a typical youngster who loved horses and walked to the sale barn to buy several horses while growing up. He quit school in the 8th grade and worked for a riding stable in Tiny Town, breaking horses and taking customers on trail rides.

At 17 he joined the Navy and did his boot camp in San Diego, California. He met his future wife through one of the recruits from Montrose, CO as a pen pal. He spent a year in Hawaii, and was transferred to Patuxant River, Maryland for the rest of his service time. He came home in April of 1952, where he and his pen pal, Anne McIntyre, were married in Montrose on Flag Day, June 14th, 1952.

He worked as a mechanic and was a devoted husband and father to 5 girls and one boy. He was a good father and a good husband. He always found a way to get everyone outside for camping, skiing, water skiing, built a cabin in the mountains, and kept everyone busy.

Jack retired at 55 years of age due to health issues and was told he had 5 years to live. After retiring he and Anne moved to Montrose in 1985 where he; raised horses, irrigated and worked the land, joined a saddle club, built a kit car, worked on different types of machines, and vehicles, all while improving his health where he lived until his passing at 94 years of age. Jack's Love for his country was only surpassed by his love for his family.

Proceeded in death by his parents, his 3 brothers and his daughter Kathy.
