Isabella P. Gallegos

January 29, 1923 ~ April 16, 2016

Isabella P. Gallegos, age 93, of Montrose, went to be with her heavenly father on April 16, 2016.  Isabella was born to Joe D.L. and Verna (Valdez) Trujillo at Trinidad, Colorado. As a child and growing up she lived in Delta and also Ouray, Colorado for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic church.  Isabella was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Her pride and joy was raising her children and spending time with her family.  Her family remembers her as a hard worker her entire life and was always there for them. She always had a warm smile for anyone and enjoyed crocheting.  A favorite past time was listening to music.

Isabella married Frank Vasquez at the age of 18, and to that union, were their children, Frank Vasquez, Martha Lottoberry, Lulu Vasquez, Gloria (Paul) Lotito, Mike (Marcella) Vasquez and Killian (John) Miller.     Isabella later married Max Joe Gallegos and surviving children are Carol (Ko) Martinez, Peter Gallegos both of Montrose, Felix Gallegos and John Gallegos both of Clifton, Colorado, Barbara (Roger) Gallegos of Delta, Ralph Gallegos of Clifton. Surviving brothers include Joe Trujill0 of Denver, Colorado, and Jake (Patty) Trujillo of Arizona and two sister, Nellie Trujillo of Brighton and Virginia Trujillo of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Max preceded Isabella in death in April 2011 in Montrose.

A Vigil and Rosary is scheduled for Thursday evening, April 21st at 7:00 P.M. at St. Mary Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10:  A.M. at St. Mary with Rite of Committal will be at Valley Lawn Cemetery, South of Montrose.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory of Montrose is in charge of arrangements
