Irene A. Stryker, age 94, of Montrose and formerly of Crawford, Colorado died May 18, 2015 at Montrose Memorial Hospital.  Irene was born January 1, 1921 to Tilden and Lizzie (McKissen) Taylor in Hotchkiss, Colorado.  She spent her childhood and received her education of Maher, Colorado.  Irene married her husband Harold on February 4, 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1975 in Delta, Colorado.  She moved to Montrose in the year 2000 and made her home until her time of death.

Irene enjoyed spending time with family and the outdoors, including fishing and camping.  She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and quilting. Irene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.

Surviving family members include her son, Lesslie (Connie) Stryker of Cortez, her daughter Lacricia (Ernie) Kramer of Montrose; grandchildren Brenda (Bryan) Muhr, Jim (Lynn) Kramer and Skie Hinkle.  Irene was also preceded in death by her brothers Chancie Taylor, Archie Taylor, Jay Taylor, Mason Taylor, Currie Taylor, and her sister, Inez Arbuckle, Mary Watson and grandson Mike Kramer.

At Irene’s request, cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11:00 am at Crawford Cemetery in Crawford, Colorado.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose is assisting the family.
