Inola “Nola” Klaire Gargus

Inola “Nola” Klaire Gargus of Montrose, Colo passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 after an illness at the age of 68. She was born in Deadwood, S. Dak on July 14, 1945 to Quentin and Carrie Major. She grew up in Montana and Spearfish, S. Dak. Nola met Gary Gargus, they were married and spent 51 wonderful years together and raised their four daughters. They moved to Montrose in 1978 where she spent the rest of her life. Shortly after moving to Montrose, she went to work for Russell Stover Candies, where she retired after 33 dedicated years.
Nola’s passion was the Denver Broncos. She faithfully followed and cheered on the team over the years. She loved spending time with her family and thoroughly enjoyed family vacations with her husband, her daughters and all of her grandchildren. She was a very caring person and had the biggest heart. Her presence will be sorrowly missed.
Nola is survived by her four daughters, Tammie Woods of Arlington, Texas, Sheila (Brian) Ball of Delta, Colo, Regina (Paul) Fischer, of Overland Park, Kan, and Patricia “Trish” (Brian) Melendy, of Loveland, Colo; two sisters Rebecca (Bill) Ader, Mary (Brian) Harris, and one brother Timothy Major, all from Montrose, Colo; eight grandchildren, Kristina (Ray) Forney, Jamie (Della) Gargus, Donald (Courtney) Woods, Danyelle (Adam) Johnston, Christopher (Jenna) Garcia, Michael Kiddy, Eryn Fischer, and Donavan Kiddy; and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers.
A memorial service in celebration of Nola’s life will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Nystrom officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado
