Ida Elizabeth Williams

Ida Elizabeth Williams of Montrose, CO and former long-term resident of Nucla, CO passed away peacefully on December 10, 2017. She was 91 years young.
Ida was born June 22, 1926 to Melvin and Bertha (Clemens) Coghill, in Ulysses, KS. She spent her childhood years in Montrose, CO and graduated from Montrose High School. On April 14, 1944 Ida was married to the love of her life, Carl Dolph Williams, in Grand Junction, CO.
Ida was incredibly creative and clever, and was well known for her artistic abilities. She enjoyed painting, sewing, and making jewelry. She also did upholstery work, made wedding cakes, and was a skilled carpenter. She was a very active member of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed attending the First Church of God in Delta, CO. More than any of that, Ida enjoyed being with and taking care of her family. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother; she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by three sons, Richard (Cyndi) Williams of Montrose, CO; Gary (Marcia) Williams of Tucson, AZ; Jerry Williams of Cortez, CO; one brother, Melvin Eugene Coghill of Amarillo, TX; one daughter-in-law, Diana Williams-Starks; one grandson; five granddaughters; thirteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl “Dolphie” Williams, son Dale Williams, and siblings Alva Coghill, Iva Westerman, Fritz Coghill, Viola Jordan, Clifford Coghill, Myrtle Daly, and Frances Gordon.
A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 am at River Bottom Park in Montrose, CO. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory.
