Harold H. Ridgel, aka “Ridge”, was born in New Orleans, LA on April 1, 1943. He spent over 20 years in the United States Air Force in which he served his country in Viet Nam. He returned to the States and after a brief time as a Realtor, began a new career in Civil Service. In 2005, after retiring from Civil Service, he brought his family to Montrose. After building a home, he began driving a school bus for First Student, and became involved with the Knights of Columbus. He also did everything he could to support Pope John Paul II Academy. Ridge lost his battle with cancer October 12, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Diana, his daughters: Julie Aurelia, Terry Goedecke, Kelly Ridgel, Antoinette Ridgel, Dominique Ridgel, Daniella Ridgel, and his son Michael Ridgel. He leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Nicole, Michael, Matthew, Torry, Megan and Emily; and 2 great-grandchildren: Hayden and Athena.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus, c/o St. Mary’s Parish or Pope John Paul II Academy.
Arrangements are being handled by Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory of Montrose.
Services will be held October 19, 2018 at 10:00AM at St. Mary Catholic Church. Vigil Service is Thursday Evening October 18, 2018 at 7:00PM at St. Mary Catholic Church.
