Harold Edward Hanson, age 85, of Montrose, passed  away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Colorow Care Center in Olathe, Colorado, surrounded by those who dearly loved him and free at last.  Harold was born in Athens Ohio on March 31, 1931 to Warren Russell and Alta Irene (Linen) Hanson.  He married the love of his life, Peggy Ann Copeland in 1949, celebrating 59 years of marriage.  She has been waiting for light years to welcome him home, and are reunited at last.  Together, Harold and Peggy raised two children, David and Cindy.  Harold moved his family from Ohio to Arizona in the 60’s and in his retirement years moved to Colorado.

Harold and Peggy loved to travel and had many adventures together throughout the United States.  They enjoyed taking their grandchildren on special trips as well.  Harold loved spending time with his family.  Harold is survived by his daughter, Cindy and nephew, Denny; three grandchildren, Amie, Hannah and Rick; five great-grandchildren, Zac, Mariah, Bryce, Ashton and Jacob; and one great-great-granddaughter, Rhea Elizabeth.  We will always remember his love and influence in our lives.  We love you and miss you and will see you again.  A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
