Glenda L. Holley
December 4, 1937 ~ June 3, 3017

On June 3rd Glenda Holley passed from this world after a long illness. She was born Glenda Lee Cooper to parents Doyle and Bessie Cooper and raised in Quanah, TX where she graduated Quanah High School with honors in band. She married Walter Hartley Holley (deceased) and lived outside Paducah, TX. Glenda was a mother and homemaker to her four sons. In 1975 she earned a degree in nursing. She moved to Montrose in 1976 where she began working at Montrose Memorial Hospital. But she found her true calling in caring for the elderly and soon began work at Valley Manor Nursing Home then San Juan Living Center where she remained until 2001. She was a breast cancer survivor. Though later in life she was burdened from many ailments, she bore them all with dignity and grace. She is survived by her sister Frieda Thomas of Tyler, TX. Sons Michael Holley (Kim Holley) of Turon KS., Darron Holley of Butte MT., Tom Holley (Vicki Holley) of Grand Junction CO., and Bill Holley of Montrose CO. Grandchildren Matthew Holley (Daisy Holley) of Hugoton KS., Amanda Willis (Warren Willis) of Hugoton KS., Timothy Holley of Butte MT and Daniel Holley (deceased). Great grand children Ethan and Dade Holley, Waylon Humphrey, Marina Crawford (Caleb Crawford), Zachary and Katelyn and Thomas Willis. Great Great granddaughter Riley Crawford. Glenda enjoyed many crafts. She made beautiful quilts. Crocheting and needle point were also favorites of hers. From her years caring for countless elderly as a nurse, to raising her children and cherishing her grand children and friends, Glenda’s legacy of love and giving cannot be measured. She will be missed by family and friends and the countless people that she touched. Alan Lerner wrote “We are all less than a drop in the great blue motion of sunlit sea.” But in the case of Glenda Holley it would seem that some of the drops sparkle.
In lieu of flowers one can honor her memory by making a donation to All Points Transit either by website or mail. 2nd Timothy 4:7 ~ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. At Glenda’s request, Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
