Glen Ecker, age 93, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Colorow Care Center in Olathe, Colorado. Glen was born April 23, 1924 to Mack and Lula (Burk) Ecker in Corvallis, Oregon. Glen grew up in Sanger, California and graduated from Chachilla High School. On July 31, 1952 Glen married the love of his life Dorothy L. Hedrick in Bentonville, Arkansas. They celebrated 47 years of marriage until Dorothy’s passing in 2000. Glen was also blessed to spend several years with his companion Lillian McClean until her passing in April of 2017. Glen served his country in the 101rst Airborne for the United States Army. He loved fishing, hunting and generally being outdoors. Glen was a member of the Christ Church of the Valley in Montrose, Colorado.
Glen is survived by his son Michael (Janet) Ecker of Olathe, CO; his daughter Annette (Steven) Munger of Olathe, CO; six grandchildren, Amanda Ecker, Delta, CO; Nancy (Stephen) Lindsey, Montrose, CO; Shatiria Munger, Canyon, TX; Jonathan Munger, Olathe, CO; Curtis (Kristina) Munger; six great grandchildren, Taylor, Gavin, and Levi Lindsey all of Montrose, CO, and Connor, Aiden, Ryland Ecker of Delta, CO. Glen is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy Ecker, his companion Lillian McClean; two brothers; three sisters; and twin sons, Rodney and Ronnie Ecker.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with inurnment at Grand View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory.
