Gladys M. (Jones) Weldon, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2018 at The Homestead Assisted Living, Montrose, Colorado.
Gladys is survived by seven children: Twins George (Judy) Weldon of Vernal, UT, and Joy (John) Weldon Knight of Longmont, CO; Pat (Joan) Weldon of Caldwell, ID; John (Karen) Weldon of Paonia, CO; Carolyn (Ed) Conkle of Montrose, CO; Elaine Weldon Helmich of North Highlands, CA; and Cheryl Weldon of Visalia, CA; 15 Grandchildren; 34 Great-Grandchildren; two Great-Great Grandchildren; nine Nieces and Nephews; and one Sister, Mildren (Warren) Jones of Longview, TX. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Johnson, and Mary Knight; and one brother, George Jones.
Gladys was born on July 3, 1923 in Pine, Texas and was a longtime resident of Montrose, CO. Following her retirement from Russell Stover Candy Factory, in Montrose, CO; she faithfully volunteered at the Montrose Nursing Home, Northside Elementary School, helping students with their reading, and Montrose Senior Center, where her commitment and eager helpfulness earned her the distinction of Volunteer of the Year. She also enjoyed numerous traveling adventures all around the world.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no services held, per her request. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory.
