Gerald “Jerry” E. Alleman
August 4, 1941 ~ March 9, 2017
Jerry E. Alleman passed away March 9, 2017 at his home in Montrose. He was born August 4, 1941 to Elber Alleman and Laurel Keck Alleman in Levant, Kansas. He attended Western State College and became an ironworker. He worked on Blue Mesa, Morrow Point, and Crystal Dams.
He was an avid stock car and NASCAR fan, and raced stock cars for many years at the Delta and Grand Junction tracks, and won many trophies. He was also a very proud member of the Montrose Elks Lodge. His greatest joy was being with his friends; Larry Wiltse, the Spanlgers, Lyle Meadows, and Bob Hobien, just to name a few; and Bill and Peggy and all of his wonderful friends at “breakfast” every day at Payares Restaurant in Montrose.
Jerry is survived by his first wife of 17 years, Irene Barnes Alleman; and his second wife of 38 years, Phyllis Johnson Alleman; and his daughter, Della Jean Gray, all of Montrose, Colorado; and three grandchildren, Sierra Gray; Jordan, and Jacob Strain. He is also survived by two sisters; Dixie Johnson of Burlington, Colorado, and Janeen Young of Ventura, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry Alleman; and his beloved daughter, Juliann Alleman Strain.
No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are being handled by Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory in Montrose.
