Gerald Dean “Bird Man” Fleming, age 54, of Colona, Colorado died February 15, 2016 at his home.  Gerald was born June 9, 1961 to mother, Barbara Foster and father, John Gerald Fleming in Denver, Colorado.  He spent his childhood and received his education in Denver graduating from West High in Denver.  Gerald went on to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, and also went to aviation school.  He married his wife Cindy Lou Kroonenberg August 4, 1984        Gerald was a member of the Montrose Elk’s Lodge.  He loved his pigeons and raised them for various races and activities such as wedding’s and his own enjoyment.  He enjoyed old cars.  Jerry was the past National Champion of arm wrestling.  His family was his pride and joy, and enjoyed the role of grandpa.  He was a loving, father, son, brother and grandpa.

Surviving family members include his wife, Cindy of 31 years of Colona; son Jamie Thomas Fleming of Montrose; his mother Barbara Foster; brother, John Ivan Fleming of Montrose; and sisters, Kimberly Foster, Terri Jean Sellers, Mindy Sue Wigginton and Jody Fullerton; and father John Gerald Fleming; two grandchildren, Wyatt and Lee Fleming.  Jerry was preceded in death by his dad, Thomas, brothers, Larry and Tommy Foster and grandmother Minnie Foster.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 1:00 P.M at Church of Christ, 1215 Calm Water Drive, in Montrose.  A reception will be held at the church, immediately following the service.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
