Forrest Acie Chapman age 85 formally of Olathe, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at The Horizon’s Retirement Community in Eckert, Co.
Ace married the love of his life Audrey Lee Stanphill on July 4, 1963, Ace & Audrey celebrated 53 years of marriage this last July. Ace & Audrey, spent time in the Simi Valley, California area, for over 22 years, before moving their family to Olathe. Ace & Audrey spent the last couple of years in Grand Junction, Co.
He very much enjoyed working with his hands, with woodworking projects. Ace was a substitute teacher & Para within the Montrose School District for 20+ years . He attended Abundant Life Church in Montrose as well as the Delta Assembly of God. Ace & Audrey lived in Olathe for 28 years, moving to Grand Junction in 2014.
Surviving family includes his wife Audrey of the family home, his daughters, Katrina (Bradley) Hammond of Grand Junction, Dorissa (Derrick) Mitchell of Simi Valley, Ca., Sherrie (Roy) Quinton of Grand Junction, Co., Melinda (David) Willmon of Lufkin, Tx; as well as one brother Jack Chapman of Las Vegas, NV. Ace is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Chelsea & Noah Hammond, Samantha & Michael Mitchell, Ted Quinton, Deanna Quinton Tice, and Tyler J. Willmon; as well as great grandchildren Travis & Justin Quinton, and one great-great grandchild Owen Quinton. Ace is preceded in death by his mother Ola Horton.
A Graveside Service in Loving memory of Ace will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Olathe Cemetery. With a reception for family & friends at the Olathe Community Center. In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Horizon Care Center, 11411 Highway 65, Eckert, Co 81418, in loving memory of Ace Chapman. Crippin Funeral Home in Montrose is assisting the family.
