A Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, August 12th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Olathe United Methodist Church in Olathe, Colorado with a reception immediately following the service.
Floyd “Mike” D. Scott

Floyd “Mike” Scott was born January 30, 1937 in McCook, Nebraska to Calvin and Maude Scott. He went to be with the Lord on August 6th, 2018. He was the 4th of five children. He attended Northside Elementary and Montrose High School. He went to work as a carpenter apprentice at the age of 17. Mike married Jean Bingham on November 4th, 1956 in Montrose, Colorado. Three children were born to this union, Terry, Larry and Tammy. Mike continued work as a carpenter for several years until he retired. He worked on several projects across Colorado that included many dams, one being the Blue Mesa Dam. He also worked on the Montrose Hospital and many schools in the area. He worked on the Eisenhower Tunnel as well as the Uranium Plant in Uravan and Gunnison. After retiring from carpentry, Mike and Jean began a haying business which they did together for ten years.
Mike and Jean bought a farm in Olathe, Colorado in the summer of 1963 where they raised their three children and had many family gatherings. Mike enjoyed riding his horses and taking care of the farm. He also enjoyed watching his kids participate in sports and rodeo. He was always there to support them and had great pride for all of their accomplishments. Mike was a big man in a little package who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Maude Scott; his sister Dot and two brothers, Bob and Don. He is survived by his wife Jean Scott; three children, Terry (Gail) Scott; Larry (Sonya Rowan) Scott; Tammy (Brad) Brown; his four grandchildren, Brandi (Steven) Stamatakis; Charley (Jake Putnicki) Scott; Tyler (Misha) Scott and Chancie Scott; his brother, Ronnie Scott; as well as several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, August 12th, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Olathe United Methodist Church in Olathe, Colorado with a reception immediately following the service. Cremation has preceded the service. Arrangements are the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory.
