Felix (Gene) Devincentis

Felix ‘Gene’ DeVincentis, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend to many, passed away in his home on March 9th, 2024 in Montrose, Colorado. He was born on July 12th, 1942 in Ouray, Colorado to Rose (DiCamillo) DeVincentis and Felix DeVincentis.

Throughout his life, Gene’s primary occupations included working as a rock crusher operator and a meat cutter. He also worked as a high scaler at the Crystal and Morrow Point Dam in the ’60s. His adventurous spirit extended beyond work as he loved fishing, hunting, prospecting for gold in the mountains of Colorado and golfing with friends. Those who knew him well remember him as a stubborn man with an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room.

After graduating from Montrose High School in 1960 where he made lifelong friendships that lasted until his passing. He married Bonnie Flannigan with whom they had their two children together before parting ways in the mid 70s. Later on he married Marge Moore, who had three daughters (Charlene, Donna, & Rhonda) that Gene was extremely fond of.

For the past 25 years, Gene shared his life with his beloved wife, Judy, exploring the great outdoors and embarking on countless adventures. Together, they journeyed to captivating destinations such as Alaska, Newfoundland, the Tetons, the Grand Canyon, and beyond..

Gene is survived by his son Kevin DeVincentis; daughter Gina DeVincentis (Kim Hussong); wife Judy DeVincentis, and her children Kirsten Garrett (David) and Chris Koch (Amanda); brother Joe DeVincentis (Mary); and sister Roseann Dukart (Don); and several nieces and nephews. His memory will also be cherished by his fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Gene is preceded in death by his mother Rose McKean (DiCamillo); father Felix DeVincentis; sister Concetta Ricketts, and sister Irene Sharon.

A memorial gathering in honor of Gene’s life, brimming with orneriness, adventure, humor, hard work, and dedication, will take place on Friday, March 15th, at 11:00 am at Crippin Funeral Home. Following the service, family and friends will convene at The Elks Lodge for a reception to commemorate his legacy.
