Evelyn Jane Lane

Evelyn Jane Lane, age 94, life time resident of Montrose, died September 30, 2014 at her home.  She was born July 28, 1920 to Oscar and Maude (Leonard) Sanburg in Montrose.  She spent her childhood and graduated from Montrose High School. She went on to college in Fort Collins.  Evelyn married Kenneth Lane on March 19, 1943 in Montrose.  She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church in Montrose.

Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a homemaker and her church and family were her main and special interests in life.  Evelyn will be missed by all of them.

Surviving family members include her husband, Kenneth of the family home; three sons Dan and Rich Lane of Montrose, Robert (Roxanne) Lane of Olathe; two daughters, Susan Clevenger of Olympia, Washington and Terrie (Chuck) Young of Cedaredge, Colorado; two sisters Mardell Sanders of Montrose and Alice Hayes of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.  Evelyn was preceded in death by a daughter Kathy McCracken and a brother Russell Sanburg.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Rosemont Baptist Church in Montrose.  Interment will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hope West Hospice, P.O.  Box 1804, Montrose, Co. 81402.
