Elizabeth “Betty” Bridges of Montrose, Colorado went to live with her Heavenly Father peacefully on February 19, 2016.

Betty was born to Oren Cecil and Elsie Pearl (McCray) Clason in La Junta, Colorado on March 20, 1928. Betty would have been 88 years old in March.

Betty was raised in La Junta, Colorado where she met the love her life, Dean Bridges. They were together from the time they were 12 years old. She was Miss La Junta High. She graduated from La Junta High School. She married Dean Bridges on May 16, 1948 in La Junta, Colorado. They were married in Deans’ parent’s back yard. The music for their wedding was “Mourning Doves.” They lived and worked together for 46 years. They raised their family in the Delta Montrose area. Dean went to live with his Heavenly Father on April 27, 1994.

Betty was a member of the Baptist Church in La Junta, and in recent years she attended the Assembly of God in Delta, Colorado. Betty was a Girl Scout and remembers selling the Girl Scout cookies. As a young girl she loved to run and play basketball with her best friend, Mary Cranson. Betty loved her flowers and hummingbirds. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch and looking at her yard.

Betty is preceded in Death by her husband Dean, her parents, 7 brothers, one sister, her daughter Becky and son-in-law Miland Roberts.

Betty is survived by her sister-in-law Mattie Lee Bridges; her children, Helen (Mike) Dunlap of Montrose, CO; Jodi (Allen) Horn of Scottsdale, AZ; Jeff (Carrie) Bridges of Ft. Supply, OK; and Laura Davis of Fruita, CO. Betty’s grandchildren, Shawn (Audrey) Galloway, Kelly (Jessica) Galloway, Kevin (Julie) Galloway, Jodine (J.R.) Glover, Connie (Jake) Hall, Melissa (Richard) Agoglia, Clint (Sammie) Horn, Lacie Davitt, Shelly (Todd) Field, Levi Bridges, Emily (Royce) Friend, Jake (Sierra) Bridges, Whitney (Braden) Smith. Many nieces and nephews.

Betty lived the last 10 months of her life at Colorow Care Center in Olathe, Colorado. She was lovingly cared for by all the staff there and the family would like to thank each person for helping to make her life pleasant.

A Memorial Service will be held at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory.
