Elaine J Johnson Wyers, age 82 of Montrose, Colorado passed away on February 3, 2025, in the presence of loving family. Elaine was born June 24, 1942 in Lynwood, California, daughter to the proud parents Leland Edward Johnson and Lucy Dudley Johnson. Elaine graduated from Manuel Dominguez High School in 1960, and worked for various companies with the majority for City Services and Phelps Dodge as a Customer Service Agent and Office Manager, retiring in 1990. Elaine married James (Jim) Norman Wyers on July 18, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada and the two were married for 54 years. It was lust at first sight. Elaine and Jim spent their first 26 years of marriage in Huntington Beach, 4 years in Ahwatukee, Arizona, and the next 24 years in Montrose Colorado, Ouray County. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Roland and Milton, and her loving son Steven Wyers.  

Elaine was a longtime member of the Fortuna Tierra club, an organization dedicated to raising funds for higher education scholarships. Elaine also treasured the traveling and dining with her girl-group, The Penguins, and sharing stories only the ladies could share. 

Elaine loved her family and friends, the outdoors, adventures with Jim, car racing, NFL Football, all animals, her exquisite mountain home with spectacular views, July 4th annual BBQs, and laughing moments with family and friends.
