Edith Arlene Wilson, age 95, longtime resident of Redvale, Colorado passed away Friday morning, April 28, 2017 with her family present. Arlene was born February 8, 1922 to Edward and Minnie Marie (Edwards) Hilleary in Copeland, Kansas. She spent her childhood in Copeland but moved to Gunnison, Colorado at a young age and graduated from Gunnison High School.
Arlene married Wayne W. Wilson on August 25, 1946 in Nucla, Colorado and were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Naturita and later were sealed into the Manti Temple in Manti, Utah.
Arlene was a member of the Redvale Study Club, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Relief Society. Her pride and joy were her family, children and grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, gardening and cooking.
Arlene is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne W. Wilson of the family home in Nucla; her two sons, James R. Wilson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Don Wilson of Redvale; two daughters, Electa Birrer of Meridan, Idaho and Judy Wilson of Duck Creek, Utah; one sister, Phyllis Johnson of Nucla; 13 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Arlene was preceded in death by her siblings, Harold Hilleary and Kenneth Hilleary and Julia Ann Elliott & Cleo Dalton Hilleary.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Arlene’s life will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–day Saints in Naturita will burial to follow the service at Nucla Cemetery in Nucla, Colorado. Crippin Funeral Home in Montrose, Colorado is assisting the family.
