Earl Roy Reiva

January 14, 1933 — October 9, 2017

Earl “Roy” Reiva passed at his home in Redvale, CO on October 9th, 2017.

Roy will be remembered for his honesty, dry sense of humor, and never meeting a stranger.

When asked, “How are you?”, Roy would reply with a variety of answers, including, “I am precious.” On October 9th Jesus called Roy home to be his precious child. He is “very” precious now.
He was born on January 14, 1933 to Martin and Anna (Jacobs) Reiva in Redvale, CO (at Frances Langdon’s home, next to Wayne Porter’s).

He continued his education with two years of college at Fort Collins before being drafted. He served in the Army for two years before receiving an honorable discharge. During his time in the Army he was trained as a heavy artillery mechanic, and was stationed in Germany.

In 1955 he married Ethel Elizabeth Jensen in the Norwood Methodist Church, which later become the Boy Scout Building.

He worked for Union Carbide for 27 years and later for the Farmer’s Water Development Company. He shared many stories about that time of his life; he enjoyed each of these jobs very much.

He served on both the San Miguel Power and the Farmer’s Water Development Company Boards.

He enjoyed church, playing baseball, skiing, camping, hunting, working on the hobby farm and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Reiva, and son Gary Reiva.
He is survived by his wife Ethel Reiva (CO), brother Tom Reiva (Jeni) (NE), son Stanley Reiva (Cindy) (CO), daughter Verna Reiva (CO), daughter-in-law LaDawna Reiva (NV).
