Dorothy M. Dunlap, age 85, of Montrose passed away May 13, 2015 at Colorow Care Center in Olathe.  Dorothy was born September 13, 1929 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma to Alfred Reed and Olga Ruth (King) Stout.  She spent her childhood and graduated high school in Rocky Ford, Colorado. Dorothy attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.  Following her education, she married her husband, Harold on December 18, 1949 and he preceded Dorothy in death in 1997 in Montrose. Dorothy was a member of Montrose Christian Church  and a member of Sigma Phi.  She enjoyed cooking, reading and loved to watch all the different animals out her picture window.

Surviving family members include her son Michael and his wife Helen Dunlap of Montrose; one grandson, Brian of Charlotte, North Carolina and many step grandchildren.  Dorothy was also preceded in death by one son, Phillip and daughter, Sherry, and her parents.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Paul Nystrom officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Cedar Cemetery, East of Montrose.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co., is assisting the family.
