Dorothea Elizabeth Ray

Dorothea Elizabeth Ray, age 85, of Montrose, Colorado passed away April 9, 2014 at her home.  Dorothea was born May 12, 1928 to Howard and Edna (Price) Crawford in Collbran,  Colorado.  She spent her childhood and received her education in Collbran, and was raised in the Baptist Church.

Dorothea married Earl Dale Ray on November 9, 1945 in Ouray, Colorado and he preceded her in death in 2004.  She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening both inside her home and her garden outside.  She will be missed by her family.

Surviving family members include her sons, Dennis H. (Loretta) Ray of Delta, Colorado, Bob Ray, and Jack D. Ray, and her special and great friend, Gloria Munoz, all of Montrose, Colorado; one brother Bob Crawford; and two sisters Norma Bailey and Pat Shoul; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and six sisters.

A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:00 am at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael J. Moran officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Olathe Cemetery, in Olathe Colorado  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado
