Dorotha M. (Hart-Erwin) Eades, age 90, of Sunrise Creek Assisted Living and formerly of Naturita took the Lord’s hand when he called her home on Sunday morning, May 25, 2014 at Montrose Memorial Hospital. Dorotha was born April 3, 1924 to Ralph and Mary Hannah (Stewart) Hart on April 3, 1924 in Catesby, Oklahoma.

She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Dorotha enjoyed spending time with her family, children and especially her grandchildren. She loved basketball and softball. Roses were her favorite and tending to her garden was a great past time. Dorotha was excellent at counted cross-stitch and crocheting. She was a member for many years of the Nucla Lions Club, Trinity Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving family members include her three daughters and one son; Judy (Richard) Scheuerman of Naturita, Phyllis Knickerbocker (Gerry Staats) of Nucla, Denny (Reenie) Erwin of Montrose and Melody (Donnie) Kettle of Gypsum; one brother Leroy Hart of Montrose; two step daughters and one stepson; Carla Seals of Craig, Susie (Mike) Keenan of Montrose and Mike (Cheryl) Eades of Redvale, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. Dorotha was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Thelda Neely and Roberta Holdridge.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Dorotha’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1:00PM at the Trinity Baptist Church in Naturita with Pastor Michael Stoker officiating. Interment will follow the service at Norwood Cemetery in Norwood. Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, CO.
