She has resided in Montrose for some 50 years. She belonged to and was very active member in many capacities and positions in her wards in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for over 55 years. She especially loved being a Chorister and directing the music in the church. She enjoyed purchasing and creating gifts to take to her bishop for others at Christmas time. She belonged to a lady’s club near her home and loved having fun with her friends.

Doris was a wonderful example of one to us all. She was very funny, fun loving, giving and a Happy lady. She was an accomplished musician, wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She performed all around the Montrose area with her son’s and family in country bands providing some if the finest music with her musical skills and her yodeling. She yodeled recently for her friends at Colorow.

Her hands were rarely still. She crocheted the most beautiful bedspreads and doilies. She was so creative and talented with crafts of all kinds that she sold in craft fairground town. She loved to decorate her home. it was a “Beautiful Victorian Showplace”. At nearly every dinner at her home was a special gift placed on each person’s plate. She loved to love and give to others. Babies were precious to her. If there was a baby to be seen I while shopping, she headed right for it to coo and make goo-goo noises… she also loved animals and had parakeets that she taught how to talk and sing.
