Donald Gene (Yuknawicz) Davis

Donald Gene (Yuknawicz) Davis , age 77 Of Olathe, Co., died Nov. 16, 2014 at Colorow Care Center in Olathe.  Donald was born December 5, 1936 to Wilbert and Goldie (Riley) Davis in Dayton, Ohio.  He spent his childhood there and graduated from High School in 1957 in Dayton.  Donald went on to college at John H. Patterson Corp/Sinclair in Dayton.

Donald was a resident of Durango, Colorado, Montrose and moved to Delta, Colorado in 1991 before moving to Olathe and to Colorow Care Center where he resided for 1 ½ until the time of his death.  Donald was a Delivery Driver for Con-Way Trucking in Dayton, Ohio for 20 plus years, a Security Army RCT E-2, and Delivery/Restaurant Cook, and Man River Township E.M.T. Fire and Police Department in Dayton, Ohio.

He served his country in the United States Army as a Private E-2 from February 12, 1960 then to Maintenance Crewman to work as a Helicopter Crewman, and Army Bank Sergeant from November 1959 to November 1991, for 12 years.

Donald enjoyed meeting new faces and had a special love for children. He enjoyed traveling and sightseeing, training in the E.M.T. field and artwork.

At Donald’s request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home and Crematory, Montrose, Colorado
