Dennis L. Hurford, son of Albert and Martha Hurford was born on July 8, 1953 in Roswell, New Mexico. He passed away unexpectedly and entirely too soon on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Dennis graduated with his Associates Degree of Arts from Fullerton Community College, California. He then went on to become an Electrician where he worked for IBEW for many years. Dennis married Debbie and together they had a son Derek, however later divorced.
Years later he reconnected and married his Disney Sweetheart and love of his life Rose Saumell and was blessed with two bonus children Jamie and Michael. Dennis loved spending time with friends and family and never passed up a round a golf. He retired and relocated from California to Colorado to be closer to his father.
Dennis is survived by Rose, his wife of 18 years, children Derek Hurford, Jamie & John Gaffey and Michael & Irene Saumell, grandchildren Emilee, Jax, Jessie, Johnathan, and little JG on the way, two brothers and their wives Don & Kathy Hurford, Dale & Barbara Hurford, a sister and her husband Melissa & Phil Claypool as well as a host of well-loved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and a brother Danny Hurford.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel, 802 East Main Street, Montrose, CO. On: Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at: 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in Dennis’s honor.
