Dana Marie (Jiron) Yacovetta

Dana Marie (Jiron) Yacovetta went to be with the Lord March 13, 2014 after battling a short illness. She was 55.

Dana was born June 11, 1958 to Leroy and Anita (Ulibarri) Jiron in Montrose, Colorado. She spent her childhood and went to school in Montrose and graduated with the class of 1976.

After graduation, Dana moved to Denver where she met the love of her life Fred. She and Fred were married on Feb. 25, 1981 and were soon blessed with two children, Frederick Yacovetta and Samantha Zaporojan, whom she loved with all her heart.

Dana was an avid reader and inherited her green thumb from her mother. She thoroughly enjoyed all that Colorado had to offer, she loved to go fishing and camping with her family. Dana loved playing softball every year with some of her best friends and she could beat anyone at a game of pool.

Dana is survived by her two children, her son Frederick Yacovettta and her daughter Samantha (Sergiu) Zaporojan, two grandchildren Bradley Houge and Maya Zaporojan. She is further survived by her sister Lori (Robert) Deines, brothers Curtis (Leann) Jiron and Todd (Lisa) Jiron, numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Dana was also survived by her companion and best friend, Steve Brooks. She was preceded in death by her husband Yac, grandparents Steve and Genevieve (Lucero) Ulibarri and Tobias and Olivia (Ruybal) Jiron and many great aunts and uncles. 

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Dana will be held Monday evening, March 17, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the Crippin Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary service. A funeral service in honor of Dana will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at Crippin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Olathe Cemetery.
