Cynthia L. (Drown) Rowan, age 54, of Montrose, Colorado  died peacefully at her home in Montrose on April 21, 2014, following a battle with cancer.   Cindy was born December 9, 1959 to Charles Eugene and Sandra Joan (Dudley) Drown in Deleward, Ohio.  She grew up in the Arlington and Longview, Texas area.  She married and had two children., Michael Roy Adams II who preceded her in death on November 2011, and Stephanie Louraine Nichols (Ed) of Longview, Texas.

 In 1989 Cindy moved to Montrose, and married Lawrence W. “Larry” Rowan in 1991.  Surviving family members include Larry’s children; Randy Rowan (Elaine) of Montrose, Scott Rowan (Heather) of Loveland, Colorado, Traci (Rowan) Wise (Dan) of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and several grandchildren.  Cindy’s parents, Charles E. Drown (Barbara) of Longview, Texas and Sandra J. Gregory (Earnie) of Olathe, Colorado; Cindy’s sibilings Deborah L. Waterman (Warren) of Montrose and Rivers Charles Drown (Amy) of Crescent City, California.

In early years, Cindy worked in banking.  After Cindy and Larry married, she became a homemaker and traveled with Larry on business and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Christ Kitchen, Republican Women’s Club, Rep. Central Committee.  She was a former member of Altrusa.  Cindy loved God and family above all else.  She loved traveling, spending time with family and friends.  She loved to cook, read, walk, watching birds and her pet, Kaylee.  In 2007, Cindy became a realtor for Remax and later for Keller-Williams, where she earned several recognitions.  She was named poet of the year in 2008 with two published poems, and others were previously published in the American Authors.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Cindy’s life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel, 2201 S. Townsend, with Pastor Ben Garate officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Grand View Cemetery, west of Montrose, Colorado.  In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope West Hospice, P.O. Box 1804, Montrose Co. 81402.  Arrangements are under the care of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado
