Cleofas “Jessie” Chacon

April 9. 1934 ~ April 25, 2016

Jessie Chacon, age 82, lifetime Montrose resident, passed away peacefully at her home on April 25, 2016 following a long battle with Stage 4 lung cancer.  Jessie lived a life of love and happiness with her children, and grandchildren.  She was a very devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, and grandma and great-grandma.  Jessie was a wonderful babysitter for many children over the years.  In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, dancing and playing poker with her family.  She enjoyed riding over lizard head mountain, on her way to the casino.  She liked getting together with family and friends.  Jessie was a loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Jessica was survived by her children; Tony, Richard, Sue Ann Chacon, Priscilla Wilcox, Rose Snyder, Bertha, Michael, Matthew Chacon and Jessica Sergo.  Also survivors by her children’s father, Mike T. Chacon; along with 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Susan Madrid, Adeline Rocha, Linda Jiron, Mary Alvarez, along with several nieces, nephews, who were all from Colorado.  Jessie was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Chacon, her parents Jose Ronoldo & Anita Chavez, siblings, Benita Cordova, Mike Chavez, Raynel Chavez, Mercy McLlwain and J. Ronaldo Chavez.

A visitation for family and friends was held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a vigil and rosary at 5:00 pm at the Chapel.  A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Olathe.  The service will conclude at the Church.  Cremation will follow the service and inurnment of ashes will take place at a later date at Valley Lawn Cemetery, with her loved ones that preceded her in death.  Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
