Clayton Dean Thompson
January 10, 1935 ~ November 6, 2015
Clayton Dean Thompson was born to Claude and Dorothy (Cook) Thompson on January 10, 1935 in San Miguel County – Norwood. He was an only child. Clayton attended school in Norwood, CO. Clayton moved to Montrose, CO in 1958 where he remained until the time of his death.
Clayton was very well known around the town of Montrose. He walked from one end of town to the other making friends along the way and waving to everyone. You could not miss seeing Clayton as he always had his cowboy hat on and at times his chaps. He was also very well-known at the downtown City Market where he spent a lot of time keeping an eye on people to be sure they were not “shop lifting”, and if they were he always was the one who caught them.
Clayton will surely be missed by all that knew him. He has left behind a special cousin, Lila Williams, and many many friends.
A memorial service in remembrance of Clayton will be held on Wednesday, November 18th at 11:00 am at the Montrose Christian Church. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements are being handled by Crippin Funeral Home. Clayton will be laid to rest with his Grandparents and two cousins, Jim and Nancy Thompson in Colorado Springs, CO.
