Charles “Chuck” Ruel Finch

Charles “Chuck” Ruel Finch died on Saturday, March 24th, at the Montrose Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Chuck was born on October 25th, 1939 in Medford, Oregon, and graduated from Medford High School in 1957. He graduated from Humboldt State in California, with a degree in Forestry. Chuck then spent 37 years of services with the Bureau of Land Management, in Montrose, retiring in 1998.
Chuck’s love for the outdoors was felt most sincerely by those he cared for, friends both old and new. His favorite place to visit was Gateway Ranch in Gunnison County where he was often found fishing, hunting, and enjoying the comradery of those around him – not to mention cocktail hour, his favorite time of day! It was at Gateway Ranch that Chuck sought refuge and enjoyed the peace and tranquility, embodying the sense of calm that he was known for. Chuck will be remembered for his unparalleled generosity; nothing made him happier than sharing his love of nature with others, gifting many friends with an opportunity to explore the wonders of the outdoors, taking solace in being able to witness someone else experience a new part of nature for the first time.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Ruel and Floy Finch, and his step-mother, Mildred Finch, all of Medford, OR. He is survived by his wife Patricia of Montrose, son Troy Finch (Debbie) and granddaughter Krystal of Montrose, daughter Krystal Lee Parish (Mark) of Littleton, sister Joy Dunn Baird (Tom) of Montrose, step-son Michael Mickens (Mindy) and grandchildren Jordan, Jaden, Jorie, and Jeriah, and step-son Ashton Mickens and grandson Kiki.

Box 3020, Montrose, Co. 81402. A celebration of Chuck is being planned for the week of July 8th, 2018 following the scattering of his ashes. Additional details will be provided at a later date. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory in Montrose is assisting the family.
