Charles E. “Charlie” Trickey
September 30, 1920 ~ June 9, 2015
Charles E. Trickey, age 94, of Montrose, passed away June 9, 2015 at Montrose Memorial Hospital. Charlie was born September 30, 1920 to Alvin and Maggie (Ballou) Trickey in Philipsburg, Montana. He received his education in Philipsburg, then went onto college at Ft. Scott Junior College at Ft. Scott, Kansas. Charlie married Marjorie Campbell on June 21, 1942 and she preceded him in death in 1989. He served his country in the United States Army from 1942 to 1945
Charlie married Gertrude Onsgard, but had also preceded him in death in September 2003. Charlie and his family had also resided in Altamont, Kansas, Denver, Colorado and Tucson, Arizona before moving to Montrose where he made his home until his time of death. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Montrose and enjoyed photography, Technology, playing the guitar and loved to travel.
Surviving family member include his three sons, John (Sharen Peacock) Trickey of Tucson, Arizona, Alan (Jane LyVere) Trickey of Gunnison, Colorado and Mike (Kylee Smith) Trickey of Montrose; one daughter, Barbara Ryerson of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
In memory of Charlie, memorial contributions may be made to HopeWest Hospice, P.O. Box P.O. Box 1804, Montrose, Co. 81402 or Welcome Home Montrose, 1404 Hawk Parkway, Suite 217D, Montrose, Co. 81401. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at The United Methodist Church, on Park Avenue, In Montrose. The service will conclude at the church. Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado is assisting the family.
