Carrie Spurlin Wilson
November 5, 1926 – December 5, 2018
Carrie was called home with her Lord Jesus Christ on December 5, 2018.
Born in Silerton, Tenn. Lockye Siler Spurlin and Luther Ernest Spurlin.
Carrie grew up in Silerton, Tenn. Carrie met Jack Wilson in Memphis, Tenn.
At her sister’s house. They were married July 19, 1946. Carrie and Jack spent most of their married life in Memphis, Tenn. After retirement they moved to Olive Branch, Miss.,
they then moved to Montrose in 2002.
Carrie worked for years at Sears Roebuck taking catalog orders over the phone.
Later went to the Baptist book store in Memphis. A member of Parkway and Broadway church in Memphis, was active with youth groups and teaching ladies Sunday School class. After moving to Montrose, she and Jack became members of Christ Church of the Valley.
Carrie is preceded in death by husband Jack of 67 years, Both parent; Luther and Lockye Spurlin and 6 siblings. Carrie is survived by daughter, Suzanne Wilson Gratton, son-in-law Gary Gratton; son Jack Dillin Wilson, Jr. (also known as Chip) all of Montrose.
Carrie had 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial Service to remember the life of Carrie Spurlin Wilson will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:30 am., at Christ Church of The Valley, the service will conclude at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suicide Prevention or Alzheimer’s research.
Arrangements are under care of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colo.
