Carolyn Ann Davis Donelson, a resident of Montrose, CO., formerly of Golden, CO passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2014 surrounded by her loving husband and family.  She is survived by her devoted  husband and best friend for 50 years, Stephen H. Donelson.  Mrs. Donelson and her husband have been residents of Montrose for the past twelve years.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 10:00 A.M with visitation beginning at 9:00 before the service at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel in Montrose, Co.

Mrs. Donelson was born in Winnsboro, Louisiana.  She was preceded in death by her father, William Hamilton Davis.  Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Ruby Davis of Monroe, LA; her sister, Jean Moses and husband Owen; brother-in-law, Robbie and wife Julie Donelson, of Morrison, CO; sister-in-laws, Martha Katz of Great Barrington, MA and Debbie DePree of Mount Shasta, CA. and nieces Leigh Moses, Jenny DePree and Heather Donelson; nephews, Brent Moses, Stephen Moses, Jonathan Peck, Jason Peck, John Peck, Michael Donelson, and John DePree and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Donelson attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe and was employed in the insurance business throughout her career.  She retired from the Insurance Center in Montrose, Co.

The family would like to thank Dr. Choon-Kee Lee, Dr. Robert Kilbourn, and the staff and nurses of the San Juan Cancer Center, Montrose Hospital, and Hope West Hospice for their loving and compassionate care and support.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Donelson’s memory to San Juan Cancer Center, 600 South 5th Street, Montrose, Co. 81401.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin Funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Co
