Services are planned for Wednesday, March 29th this week, at 2:00 pm, at Cedar Creek Church, 3rd and Townsend, Montrose, CO. Brenda Kay Tollefson Born September 21, 1951, passed from this life into the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 23, 2017.
Brenda was raised by her mother and adoptive father, in Oklahoma. At the early age of 19 she met the guy that would be lucky enough to be the love of her life. Married on Saturday, Gary would leave on Monday and together they would spend the next 2 years in the Army and in Germany. She married Gary Tollefson on August 7th, 1971. To this union two children were born, Brandee LeBlanc, (Mike) Montrose, and Lucas Tollefson, Montrose. 45 years of marriage was celebrated last year. She is also survived by a sister Jackie Waggoner, Lawrence, Kansas, brother Mark Miles, Carrollton, TX, and brother Robert Mileski, Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father and her step father.
In 1991, Brenda was diagnosed with malignant Melanoma on her eye, and then in 2006, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. For the past 25 years, the Lord has blessed us with a mother, wife, that truly fought the good fight of faith, as she continually battled her cancer, from a natural approach, refusing to accept the chemo treatments. She won the battle for many years with a quality of life, that only God can provide.
