Bonnie Jean Williams (Bastian)

September 16, 1941 — November 25, 2021

Bonnie Jean (Bastian) Williams graduated to Heaven on November 25, 2021.  She was born to Weldon and Melba (Parker) Bastian in Spokane, Washington on September 16, 1941. Bonnie was the third of seven children in their family.

Bonnie Jean had a zest for life and an enduring love for the people in it.  She lived a rich, full life as a Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, homemaker, gardener, massage therapist, jokester and friend. Bonnie enjoyed baking, canning, gardening, learning, seeking, and discovering new things. Bonnie shared her wonderful baking with many, especially her amazing homemade bread, pies, and Christmas cookies. Her greatest joy was in raising her eight children. She taught her children many values especially loving well and the importance of family, which she experienced from her parents.

Bonnie also loved music as it was a big part of her upbringing.  She enjoyed accompanying her father on the piano when he played the violin. Bonnie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for much of her life.  She loved to socialize and spend time visiting with family and friends. She had a beautiful sense of humor and joked with enthusiasm, even in the hardest situations, all the way to the end. Many felt loved by the way she would really listen to them and was always interested in what they had to say.  We all have so many precious memories of our dear Bonnie.

Bonnie fought an incredible fight over 28 years battling multiple cancers and living with complex health issues. Bonnie Jean is a true warrior. She was so grateful to be loved deeply and cared for by her Heavenly Father, her family, and communities of friends. She lived in many different places during her lifetime including, WA, AK, CA, MT, Vernal, UT; Parker and Naturita, Colorado.

Bonnie was married to Wayne Grant Williams for 31 Years.  She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Jeremy David Williams, her parents, Weldon and Melba (Parker) Bastian, and her brother David Bastian (Marilyn).  She is survived by her brother Larry Bastian (Diane) of Bountiful, Utah; her sister Marlene Safsten (Curtis) of Springville, Utah; her brother Steve Bastian (Debra) of Trophy Club, Texas; her sister Penny Lindsay (Chappy) of Fremont, California; and brother Daniel Bastian (April) of Vernal, Utah.  She is survived by her daughters Sherry Lewis of Boulder, Colorado; Ruth Reams (Earl) of Naturita, Colorado; her sons Michael Williams (Caradie) of Midway, Utah; Matthew Williams of Overton, Nevada; her daughters Karen Rea of Parker, Colorado; Kathy Cheney (Troy) of Manitou Springs, Colorado; Julie Garcia (James) of Parker Colorado.  Bonnie is also survived and loved by 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
