Billy Ray Slyhoff

Billy Ray Slyhoff, age 90, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 13, 2015 at the San Juan Living Center in Montrose.  He was born to Ray and Lois (Weidenheimer) Slyhoff on Sept. 3, 1925, in St. Francis, Kan.  He was preceded in death by his wife Agnes (Crowl) and two brothers Craig (Jackie) Sturm and Kent (Vickie) Slyhoff and great-grandson Gage Manes.  He is survived by son Rod (Alice) Slyhoff of Pueblo, daughter Rhonda (Greg) Bohte of Clifton, grandchildren Katrina (Eric) Baker of Buena Vista, Marcy (Chad) Manes of Pueblo, Kym (Corey) Topaha of Farmington, N.M., and Billy Bohte.  Great-grandchildren Kendra, Zane and Tristyn Baker, Amryn and Caden Manes, Tobie, Adrianna and Marissa Topaha.

Bill and Agnes were married on April 3, 1947, in St. Francis, Kan., enjoying each others company for over 68 years until her death on Sept. 20, 2015. They lived in Kansas, Nebraska, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado as Bill was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation and worked erecting dams. Bill was a veteran serving in both WWII, Pacific war and the Korean conflict.  He was a member of the Lions Club. Bill loved fishing, staying in the cabin at Blue Mesa, playing pinochle, dominoes and many other games.

A memorial service for both Bill and Agnes is planned for Saturday Nov. 21, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Crippin Funeral Home, 802 E. Main, Montrose.
