Beulah Demmer passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose, CO, in the morning hours of December 31, 2016.  She was a few days shy of her 85th birthday.

Beulah Mae Jenkins was born on January 2, 1932, to Howard and Bessie Faye Jenkins of Texhoma, Oklahoma.  She was the fourth of six children.  The Jenkins family fled the Dust Bowl of Oklahoma and came to Colorado, first settling in Cortez and later in Montrose.  Beulah attended Oak Grove Elementary through her eighth grade graduation.

On September 18, 1949, Beulah married Willard Kenneth Demmer in Montrose, where they made their home and raised their two daughters, Sheryl Faye, born on March 20, 1953, and DeEtta Kay, born on March 11, 1955.  Beulah was a homemaker.

Later in life after she’d raised her children, Beulah spent her summers growing beautiful flowers in her gardens and her winters with her oil paints and canvas.  Her paintings adorn the walls of many family members and friends; she never tired of making pretty things for others.  She adored her four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Beulah is survived by her daughters Sheryl Sorrells and DeEtta Frank; son-in-law Mick Frank; grandchildren Jason Frank and wife Elizabeth, Jerry Frank and wife Jennifer, Stacy Mae Sorrells, and Brian Sorrells; great-grandchildren Ryan and Ellarie Frank; and her sister Betty Stringer; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband Willard Demmer; her parents Howard and Faye Jenkins; her brothers Vernie Jenkins, Don Jenkins, and Ted Jenkins; her sister Alpha Boyd; and her son-in-law Dave Sorrells.

Services will be held at Crippin Funeral Home Chapel in Montrose on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 1:00 pm, followed by interment at Cedar Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valley Manor Care Center, 1401 S. Cascade, Montrose, CO 81401. Arrangements under the care of Crippin Funeral Home, Montrose.
