Betty Lou Mock, age 88, of Montrose, died July 4, 2014 at Valley Manor Care Center in Montrose.  Betty was born July 15, 1925 to Edward and Ruth Marie (Lyster) Baker in Joplin, Missouri.  Her family moved to Los Angeles, CA., when she was an infant, but had also resided in Montrose during WWII.  At the end of the war, the family relocated back to Montrose, where they made their home.  While raising her children, Betty was very active in all school functions and supportive of the schools and her children.  She was politically active during most of her adult years, working for the Democratic Party and the Election Board.  Later on Betty was a member of the Montrose Emblem Club until her health prevented her from being able to participate.

Betty is survived by four children, Clara Dry of Oklahoma, Betty Jean Stangby of Montana, Guy Mock III of Montrose, and Clay Mock of Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  At Betty’s request, cremation has taken place and private family services were held.  Arrangements are under the direction of Crippin funeral Home & Crematory, Montrose, Colorado.
